What Shipr holds
Shipr keeps a registry and a log. Git is the state: what a repository is at, Shipr reads from git itself and only remembers for a while. The database holds what git cannot say.
The registry is the things you have told Shipr about. A group is a named set of repositories, and it belongs to you or to your organization. A development repository is one you work in, and a deployment repository is the one that ships it. A connection reaches GitHub, Vercel or Railway, and Shipr keeps a list of which repositories each connection reaches. A GitHub organization can have defaults that its repositories inherit. A repository can name the persona that may act on it.
The log is the runs. A run has steps, and each step records every event it emitted. You can watch the log of a run as it happens.
The ladder is testing, then staging, then production. Shipr knows what the next rung is for any repository, and shows you where each one stands. A run moves commits from one rung to the next without ever force-pushing.
